About Tribal Museum Planners & Consultants (TMP&C)

Creating a museum or cultural center is a long-term commitment that requires significant investment of tribal resources and financial support. If tribes have current information and the necessary tools from the beginning of the planning process, they will be better equipped to make smart, reality-based decisions. That's the mission of Tribal Museum Planners & Consultants (TMP&C): To inform tribes about the opportunities and challenges that building a museum can entail and present program ideas that help meet your cultural goals. We hope that by emphasizing quality program development upfront, tribes will expand their ideas about the mission and functions of museums.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Tribal Museum Planners & Consultants (TMP&C) is an experienced team of Indian and non-Indian museum professionals that specializes in working with American Indian tribes on tribal museum/cultural center development. We help tribal planning committees think through their needs and issues, examine their options and articulate their goals. If we discover that constructing a museum building cannot be a fiscal priority for a tribal government, then TMP&C provides alternative programming ideas to explore.

No two tribes are alike. No two museums are alike. TMP
&C provides one-on-one service that emphasizes the uniqueness of your community, your story, your culture.

We hope we have the opportunity to work with you.
